COVID 19 Update

8/2/2024

Hello from Westfield Quality Care of Aurora.

Residents played UNO with a special visit from a furry friend.  We had a memorial service to honor the residents we have lost this past quarter.  Residents played a new game called Conversation Hearts, they picked a heart out of the box and had to answer the question.  They had a great time with many laughs.

Aliandra Lee is our August employee of the month. Ali is one of our cooks, congratulations, we could not eat great food without you.

For our COVID update this week there are no COVID positive residents or staff.  Our facility remains open, and residents are able to participate in regular activities.  Please remember to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer often. If you have any COVID symptoms please stay home and take care of yourself, we will take good care of the residents, so you do not have to worry.  I want to thank everyone that has been visiting and helping to keep our loved ones safe.

Here are fun facts about August:  In the northern hemisphere August is called the dog days of summer.  The weather is gloriously warm, the gardens are lush with vegetables ready to be picked, and the beaches are packed with people enjoying the last few weeks of summer vacation.

August was once the 6th month of the year.  In the Roman calendar August was known as “Sixtilis” the Latin word for 6.  It wasn’t until 700 BC when January and February were added to the calendar that august was bumped to the 8th month of the year.

Best regards,
