COVID 19 Update

7/3/2024

Hello from Westfield Quality Care of Aurora.

Residents had many fun activities for Independence Day week.  They made American flags from egg flats, these turned out amazing and are hanging on the residents’ doors.  The residents watched a movie about how fireworks are made and had a popcorn party.   Congratulations to Ariel Miller, Activities Coordinator, she is Westfield’s employee of the month for July.

Have a happy and safe Independence Day weekend.

For our COVID update this week there are no COVID positive residents or staff.  Our facility remains open, and residents are able to participate in regular activities.  Please remember to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer often. If you have any COVID symptoms please stay home and take care of yourself, we will take good care of the residents, so you do not have to worry.  I want to thank everyone that has been visiting and helping to keep our loved ones safe.

Here is a fun fact about July:  July is usually the hottest month of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.  The hottest temperature ever recorded in the United States was in Greenland Ranch, California.  The temp was recorded at 134 degrees Fahrenheit on July 10th, 1913, it was hot enough to fry an egg on a rock.

Best regards,

Michelle Broekemier
