COVID 19 Update

5/3/2024

Hello from Westfield Quality Care of Aurora.

We want to thank Dolores Kimminau for performing for the residents, they love to hear polka music.  We also want to thank Angie Wall for donating a large box of flowers to the activities department, the residents love to do crafts and they will find something amazing to do with these flowers.  Many thank you’s for this week, we had May Day baskets dropped off for the residents, thank you for this, they loved the treats.  Congratulations to Ariel Hock, dietary aide, she is our May employee of the month.  You do amazing work.

For our COVID update this week there are no COVID positive residents or staff.  Our facility remains open, and residents are able to participate in regular activities.  Please remember to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer often. If you have any COVID symptoms please stay home and take care of yourself, we will take good care of the residents, so you do not have to worry.  I want to thank everyone that has been visiting and helping to keep our loved ones safe.

Here are some interesting facts about May:

May is the fifth month of the Gregorian calendar and marks the transition from spring to summer in the Northern Hemisphere and from autumn to winter in the Southern Hemisphere.

The ancient Greeks gave it her name, Maia, after the goddess Maia, who was revered for her association with growth and fertility.

The emerald, a beautiful gemstone that is typically green in hue, is the birthstone for May. The emerald is a sign of love and success, and it has long been coveted for its beauty and scarcity.

Best regards,
