COVID 19 Update

3/29/2024

Hello from Westfield Quality Care of Aurora.

I want to wish everyone a happy Easter.  We had kids from school come and read for the residents, the residents loved it.  The residents painted wooden bookmarks that will be given to the Superior Library. They love to make gifts for others.

For our COVID update this week there are no COVID positive residents or staff.  Our facility remains open, and residents are able to participate in regular activities.  Please remember to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer often. If you have any COVID symptoms please stay home and take care of yourself, we will take good care of the residents, so you do not have to worry.  I want to thank everyone that has been visiting and helping to keep our loved ones safe.

Here are some interesting facts about spring:

The name "Spring" has revolved over the years. In Old English, it was named Lent. Then at some point by the 14th century, that time of year was called "springing time" in reference to the plants and flowers springing from the ground. By the 15th century, it was shortened to "springtime" and then by the 16th century it was further shortened to Spring.

Scientists believe the term "Spring Fever" to be a real thing that happens to people in Spring. With longer daylight and warmer weather, people become more active increasing blood flow, creativity and ultimately are HAPPIER!

Tulips are one of the first flowers to bloom in Spring. They mean HAPPINESS!

Best regards,
