Hello from Westfield Quality Care of Aurora.
Residents had watercolor creations this week, the butterflies are colorful and beautiful. I am always so proud of the amazing artists that live at Westfield. I can never say too much about how the residents love pet therapy. We have many animal lovers here so if anyone has a pet that they want to share with the residents let us know.
Happy Mother’s Day to all, please come visit. This is the perfect opportunity to make our residents’ day with a visit from family or friends.
Westfield made a donation box for the Aurora Adopt a Pet. We are taking donations for the animal shelter starting April 19th – May 18th. Donations can be put in the decorated box in the front entryway at Westfield Quality Care. Items that are needed: squeaky toys, cat toys, Iams mini chunks, Iams canned dog food, clumpable litter, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, plain milk bones, Jiaxix pet nursing bottles, feeding bottle kits, and Weighmax Electronic Kitchen Scale.
For our COVID update this week; Hamilton County is NOT in high positivity rate, so masks are NOT required at this time. We will continue to check the community positivity rates every Friday. Westfield does not have any COVID positive staff or residents. We always want visitors to self-monitor and please don’t visit if you are feeling ill. I will continue to add this bit of infection control reminders, wash your hands frequently, and use hand sanitizer often. If you have any COVID symptoms or have been knowingly exposed to COVID please stay home and take care of yourself, we will take good care of the residents, so you do not have to worry.
Here are some interesting facts about May:
May 14 is Mother’s Day—don’t forget! Do you have something planned to show appreciation for your mother?
May 20 is Armed Forces Day, which honors those who serve in all branches of the United States military.
”A warm January, a cold May.” May acts as the bridge between spring and summer, hinting at warmer weather for those still stuck in spring’s grasp, while heating things up for those already well on their way.
Have a great weekend,
Michelle Broekemier
