SPECIAL BULLETIN

1-5-2022

Good morning everyone,

After many months of fighting to keep COVID19 from the residents living at Westfield, I am reporting to you today that we did have a resident test positive for COVID19 yesterday afternoon. We tested all residents and staff yesterday and all others have tested negative. Following the positive test, all families were notified of the situation. The resident who tested positive and the residents on that hall are now in quarantine to the hall, along with dedicated staff to that area. This will continue for a period of 14 days. The resident is showing no signs of illness and is feeling well. Our staff will continue to monitor the situation, signs and symptoms, as always.

We will continue our twice a week testing of all residents and all staff, with the next round of testing to take place on Friday January 7, 2022.

While in the past a positive COVID19 test would impact our visitation guidelines, after the release of updated guidance from CMS in November 2021, visitations will not be restricted in this situation. However, it is important that all visitors, particularly those who are unvaccinated, understand the risks involved with an exposure to COVID19 and take any necessary precautions for your individual needs.

If you have any questions, please do let us know. We will do our best to answer them or will certainly get the answers for you.

Thank you again for your support and understanding.

Westfield is working closely with the Central District Health Department, DHHS and Nebraska Medicine - ICAP to ensure that we are following recommendations related to quarantine and treatment options for a resident or residents who would test positive for COVID19.

If you have any questions, please do let us know. We will do our best to answer them or will certainly get the answers for you.
