Hello from Westfield Quality Care of Aurora.
Activities for this week the residents were very busy as usual, they played name that TV show and did very well. Last week we had staff blessing us with jokes and this week it is the residents. Check out our Facebook page to see all the hilarious jokes the residents wanted to share. Bingo was a big hit and many residents came to hear Dolores Kimminau bless us with her musical talents. I want to say congratulations to our Employee of the Month – DanYel Hill. DanYel is a medication aide that works the evening shift for Westfield. Congratulations DanYel, thank you for all you do for the residents.
Westfield made a donation box for the Aurora Adopt a Pet. We are taking donations for the animal shelter starting April 19th – May 18th. Donations can be put in the decorated box in the front entryway at Westfield Quality Care. Items that are needed: squeaky toys, cat toys, Iams mini chunks, Iams canned dog food, clumpable litter, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, plain milk bones, Jiaxix pet nursing bottles, feeding bottle kits, and Weighmax Electronic Kitchen Scale.
For our COVID update this week; Hamilton County is NOT in high positivity rate, so masks are NOT required at this time. We will continue to check the community positivity rates every Friday. Westfield does not have any COVID positive staff or residents. We always want visitors to self-monitor and please don’t visit if you are feeling ill. I will continue to add this bit of infection control reminders, wash your hands frequently, and use hand sanitizer often. If you have any COVID symptoms or have been knowingly exposed to COVID please stay home and take care of yourself, we will take good care of the residents, so you do not have to worry.
Here are some interesting facts about May:
May is the fifth month of the Gregorian calendar and marks the transition from spring to summer in the Northern Hemisphere and from autumn to winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
The ancient Greeks gave it her name, Maia, after the goddess Maia, who was revered for her association with growth and fertility.
The emerald, a beautiful gemstone that is typically green in hue, is the birthstone for May. The emerald is a sign of love and success, and it has long been coveted for its beauty and scarcity.
Have a great weekend,
